  1. The thing I am most looking forward to in Rogue One is being able to see the story told from an angle other than the “Skywalker” part of the story. It will be nice to see what is going on from someone else’s perspective.

To me, based on the trailers I have seen, this movie almost looks like seeing someone’s tabletop RPG campaign on screen and that is pretty appealing to me as well.

    Good episode by the way!

I’m most excited for Alan Tudyk’s droid character – K-2SO. If the character is anything like Tudyk’s other characters, he’ll probably be one of the best in the movie.

Had a busy weekend playing in the X-Wing UK Team Chanpionships, so only just listened to the podcast. Another great episode guys… I am getting dangerously close to starting to play IA. I can’t afford another game, so please stop making it sounds so good please.

So a few things from me:

    1. Yes, you pronounced my name pretty much perfectly!
    2. If I give more money on the Patreon, will that help to make sure Evan never sings again?
    3. I am most looking forward to K-2SO, the droid. Kinda reminds me of HK-47 from KOTOR. If his dialogue is half as good, he’ll be a brilliant character.

I am super excited for Rogue One, possibly even more so than Episode VIII. I love how authentic it feels from the trailer. They strike a good balance of old and new. I love seeing the classic Stormtroopers, Walkers and Imperial Star Destroyers. At the same time the some of the new trooper models and ships look cool as well (looking at you U-wing).

As a big fan of the Legends EU I’m also glad to see more stories that revolve around everyone that isn’t a force user, it helps fill out that lived in feel of the new canonical continuity.

Its a good time to be a Star Wars fan and I can’t wait to see what they give us once we move past the Skywalker Saga.

  5. Chuck Couch

I’m excited to see what new subtle details are added to the lore. Hints about what is going on in the sequel trilogy. Also new details about the Death Star, the inner workings of the Empire and the Rebellion.

  6. Brian N Richmond

I’m honestly most excited about the Rogue One art book, because I really don’t have a ton of faith in Disney after the difference between what could’ve been The Force Awakens and what we ended up getting.

But the droid seems cool, and that might be entertaining. And we will probably finally see a canonized Bothan.

  7. Tyler K

I’m most excited to see Darth Vader in his dark prime! His presence alone in ANH was so imposing, I kind of hope they don’t overdo it and make it lightsaber fight salad like in the prequels. A little bit goes a long way, and I’m ready to be terrified again!

  8. Thanatopsis

I am most excited for the ending of the movie: will anyone make it out alive? Will it be a seamless transition between Rogue 1 and Ep4? I am also excited for the Dark Forces fan service that I’m sure Disney will throw at us.

  9. I’m generally just excited to see a star wars story on the big screen that doesn’t focus on force user main line story, while still expanding that lore. The ability for Rogue One to explore new characters and places is the biggest thing I’m looking forward to.

Tricky question since I’ve avoided trailers, news, interviews, etc so I can watch the movie with no expectations. So I suppose my answer is a very bland, “I’m excited just to get another Star Wars movie in my lifetime.”

You didn’t mention who’s eligible to enter the competition, so if it’s not international – disregard this post.

Lure me in with gooey IA goodness and now there’s a chance for a draw? Brilliant, and here I was just wanting to know about one thing, and I’ve been trying to hard to resist learning more about the RPG side of things.

Anyhow, my answer is actually right along the same lines as Steve and Anthony’s up yonder: I’m most excited that we get to see Star Wars presented in a fashion that doesn’t necessarily have to line up with the traditional adventure theme of the main series. The director and film crew can go a different direction with this spin off, and -potentially- affect a different tone with this production. So, these can all be used to test the proverbial waters without upsetting the Disney current. We’ve heard that the film is apparently darker and non-jedi in scope, so that sounds intriguing.

Even when I was a kid, growing up on the pictures in the early 90’s, I wanted to be the Y-wing pilot, Han, nameless Echo base trooper #42, etc.. I’m not a ‘force guy’. So a war picture with commando teams, turncoats, kill-bots, rage furries, etc, all sound appealing. There’s a lot of little things I’m curious about and interested in, but it’s the general tone shift is the #1 hype draw.

As to the IA thing: are the scenarios as important as in, say, Armada? Are they randomly selected at the beginning of the round or do the tournament maps just come with a ‘preset’ as it were? I’m just getting some of the core painted up now, sooo… yeah.

That ending, it’s gotta be TIE fighter: I recognize the growly ‘ISD in need of a space carburetor’ noise. Thanks again for a great episode, mates!

In Skirmish, each map has 2 scenarios tied to them. So for tournaments there will only ever be 3 maps “in rotation” at a time, and each of those maps has 2 scenarios linked to it. Each round of a tournament the TO will pick one of those scenarios randomly.

      1. Chris Charron

Aaalright, that is pretty cool. Just as a sort of brain pick for those in the know, does the new ‘expansion hotness’ always/essentially-always get folded into the tournament season rotation (so should players expect Jabba’s Realm when it’s released over, say, Return to Hoth)? It all sounds pretty good, coming from a vet on the Armada side of things.

Niiice Leo, I thought it was all good and familiar :). ‘Tis a good’n!

        1. Joe

As soon as Jabba’s Realm comes out it won’t be immediately placed into rotation, but whenever they do end up rotating the maps they tend to include a map from the newer expansions.

I am excited for what I hope will be the Empire Strikes back of the new Star Wars movies. It is going to be darker and the heroes are going to suffer to try to complete their mission. We know they will succeed but at what cost ?
