News Roundup 5/6/16

Lots of news this week! Force Awakens stuff, and a new video game? Check it out below.

Tabletop

A new X-Wing expansion has been announced! This will be another two-ship pack. The expansions is called Heroes of the Resistance and features the Falcon from TFA and Poe’s black X-Wing.

Here are the cards they’ve spoiled so far in this announcement:

Looking closely at the card spread as well you can see that the Black One title reads: After you perform a boost or barrel roll action, you may remove 1 enemy target lock from a friendly ship at range 1. You cannot equip this card if your pilot skill is “6” or lower.”

And in other TFA news, a new beginner box RPG has been announced that takes place in the TFA era.

It was unclear to me what your characters are up to in this, but it seems to be more along the lines of Edge of the Empire, where the player characters are sort of on the fringe of society.

In more X-Wing news, the second to last round of voting is open for the System Open ships for the Coruscant Open. Be sure to vote!

And one last chunk of exciting tabletop news: there’s a new preview of the heroes in the Bespin Gambit expansion for Imperial Assault!

Both of these heroes seem to be well balanced and fun for both campaign and skirmish.

Video Games

EA has announced a new Star Wars video game! Well, that’s it. They said they’re making one. And that’s that.

Today, I’m thrilled to be able to announce that EA and the talented team at Respawn Entertainment have expanded our relationship to include the development of an all-new 3rd person action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe.

hey join our other great studios – Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, Motive and more – who are currently working on Star Wars projects.

A new 3rd person action adventure game? Force Unleashed 3???!!! Just kidding.

Speaking of TFU, both The Force Unleashed 1 and 2 are now backwards compatible on Xbox One.

And lastly this week, GameInformer put out an article of the Top 30 Star Wars Games.  Kinect Star Wars isn’t #1 so this list is invalid.
