News Roundup 3/25/16

It’s news time Noodle Scooters! While not as heavy as last week’s load of news, there’s still some goodies for you after the break.

This week’s news is brought to you by R5 units: some motivation required.

Video Games

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens has its first gameplay trailer:

StarWars.com put up an article on the 4 Star Wars Games that Let you Feel the Power of the Dark Side. Which had to be a list of 4, because a list of 10 would have covered all of the games that let you harness the dark side.

The Outer Rim DLC for Battlefront is out for Season Pass holder (I admit, I caved and got the season pass). For those who don’t have it, it will be available next week.

Along with this DLC came a big update, regardless of whether you bought the DLC or not.

The patchnotes for this update have been posted on the Battlefront forums.  A brief list of notes on the update was also posted.

A new way to earn upgrades and weapons has been released: Hutt Contracts.  EA also put up an article explaining the new game mode, extraction.

I managed to get in a few games already and have to say, the new maps are pretty cool. But we’ll be discussing that in the next episode of Battle Chat. I did want to show you though my first ever attempt at doing a combat roll in Battlefront since the update.

Speaking of combat rolling in Battlefront, a big discussion over on the official forums has shone some light on just how ridiculous the new rolling is. Watch those videos in that thread. What the hell, DICE?

If you’ve got time to spare, here’s a video of one of the livestreams EA had out, with commentary from one of the game’s developers, who answers a lot of questions about the new DLC and the game in general.

The rulebook for Star Wars Rebellion has been put up for all of you to read at your leisure.

FFG’s new Maneuver Dial Upgrade kits for X-Wing are apparently available now. Not sure whether I’ll be picking any up though. As I’d either want to upgrade all of my dials, or none of them. Maybe They’d be useful if there’s a particular ship you ALWAYS run, or something. On the fence about these.

The Edge of the Empire sourcebook, Special Modifications, is now available. I think we had reported it being available last week, but that was apparently wrong. Oops.

StarWars.com ran an article about some cool classic Star Wars board games. Have you played any of these?

The web cominc, Up To Four Players has done a couple comics on how to play the FFG RPGs.
